Blended Biomes - Editing now
Minnesota sits at the intersection of three great habitat types called biomes: the prairie, the boreal forest, and the temperate forest. Though these regions may seem distinct, where they come together the lines are blurred. Within these transition zones species from different biomes intermingle, and for some species, these transitions are where they are most at home. In other places, there are pockets of habitat that seem to belong hundreds of miles away. Come explore these transitions as we travel from dark spruce forests, to the autumn color of oak and hickory woods, then out onto the open prairie.
